Teachers Teach Teachers - Year 2

We launched the project in June 2019, uniting more than 100 teachers in their wish to develop the language of teaching and practice teaching skills through applying Lexical Approach to students who are colleagues.

The second academic year follows the programme of Outcomes Advanced and we have prepared fantastic webinars for you! The year will be split between 3 areas - Lexical Approach, Psychology for English teachers and practical webinars delivered by TTT participants.

Teachers Teach Teachers is a community for us, teachers. We offer TTT as a safe space for growth and professional development.

Teachers Teach Teachers

We combine practicing English (we teachers need it all the time, don't we?) with teaching practice (for supervision and experience exchange). This is how the project Teachers Teach Teachers emerged. In short – TTT.

The idea is very simple: TTT participants work in groups of no more than 10 (online and offline), take Outcomes Advanced textbook and set off on a journey across the vast lexical fields of the English language.

Members of the group take turns to teach the group (every month a new teacher), for the rest of the time teachers become students.

At the end of each lesson (or a month) the current teacher can receive feedback from the colleagues and discuss the lesson from the point of view of both students and teachers.

What is included into programme per month:

01
4 group lessons
Every month one of you becomes the teacher for the group. Teachers change every calendar month. Other participants are students.

1 methodological webinar
Once a month. You can find all the webinars and materials on our platform. See the programme for the 2nd semester of Year 1 in TTT calendar above.

1 follow-up session
The follow-up happens 2 weeks after the webinar. You have time to process the information, implement new ideas and think of some questions to the speaker. Then we meet online (with the same speaker) to ask questions, share our achievements and findings.

Teachers of the month support
Teachers of the month (the ones who actually do the teaching during the particular month) join a chat with immediate support, get access to a special educational module and have
4 online meet-ups with course consultants and authors of Outcomes to get ready for their lessons.

Community
Our colleagues usually share that finding a group of like-minded teachers from all-over the world is one of the best things that ever happened to them. We have meet-ups, attend conferences together, share ideas and support each other. Always.
We'll send a link to our closed FB group as soon as you join the programme.

1 live stream
Anita Modestova goes online to answer the most burning questions of the month. She usually invites someone to join her to discuss something important for TTT community.

Special Interest Groups
Our SIGs meet once a month online (TTT Bookclub, TTT Methodology, TTT Linguistics). Each one has a closed FB group for sharing and cooperation.

Pilates
One of our participant asked for it and now we all are huge fans of Pilates. Staying healthy! :)

1 speaking club
Every first Monday of the month we'll be meeting just to talk and have fun. All groups together. You might want to volunteer to be a leader of the club one day :)

The participants meet for a lesson once a week. The point is to study in the group and change the teacher every month.
Every participant becomes the teacher at some point and receives feedback from the colleagues.

Rules and regulations of TTT

How regular groups work:

- We apply the lexical approach we use hard copies of the students’ book
- The group meets once a week for 90 minutes
- Every month one from the group becomes the Teacher. If you feel insecure, take your turn later. Anyway, we provide support throughout the whole teaching month.
- If the Teacher asks for it, group participants can give their feedback after every lesson or after the whole month of teaching. If the Teacher doesn't want it, then no, no pressure.
- We teach and communicate in English only

How it is organised:

- we use hard copies of Students' book Outcomes Advanced 2nd Edition and it's obligatory. Workbook is optional.
- All groups work in Zoom; we provide everything that is needed, including a crash course for newbies.
- The maximum amount of participants in a group is 10 for the General Track and 6 for the Exams.
